IMPORT POTATOES ARE EARLY THIS YEAR
Nedato is packing Dutch potatoes as long as possible. But the stock of the old harvest of consumer potatoes in Europe is running out. We now clearly notice the effect of the low yields in the past year. This means that the new crop of potatoes will be on the shelves of the stores earlier than usual. The demand for the new harvest is also higher and the prices are high.
For the slightly floury potatoes Nedato can go on with the old harvest for at least a month. But for the firm and red skinned potatoes, we are also seeing the end of the supply. Nedato has a regular schedule of import potatoes with solid relations abroad. The accompanying photos to this article are from our recent visit to Mallorca. These potatoes are ripened in 2 weeks.
